Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Performance responsibilities: Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum and school goals using Montessori pedagogy. Understands and follows objectives for all lessons, unit projects and effectively communicate these objectives to students. Maintains as fully as possible the established routines and procedures of the school and classroom to which assigned. Teaches lesson plan as outlined by the absent teacher.
Demonstrates knowledge and incorporates technology in daily tasks, as required. Performs all extra duties for the absent teacher or paraprofessional as required by the school.
Contributes to the classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students. Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities. Assists the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct. Maintains order in the classroom in a fair and just manner
Maintains a professional appearance as an example for students.
Requirements: A four year degree from an accredited college/university (must have a copy of your official transcripts confirming the degree) OR A two year degree from an accredited college/university (must have a copy of your official transcripts confirming the degree). Two confidential professional or volunteer, supervisory references.
Preferred Specialized Skills/Experience: Bilingual in English and Spanish.
